NAME
     ver - change version of Shell commands

USAGE
     ver
     ver systype
     ver systype command

DESCRIPTION
     Ver changes, temporarily or permanently, the UNIX version of
     commands that are executed by the Shell.  The command also
     displays the version in use.

     The first form of the command (without arguments) displays
     the current systype value, which specifies the UNIX version
     of commands being executed by the Shell.  The second form
     allows you to set the UNIX version, to systype.  Valid sys-
     types are ``sys5'' and ``bsd4.2''.

     The third form of the command causes the UNIX version of
     command specified by systype to be executed, with no per-
     manent change to systype.
