NAME
term - conventional names for terminals
DESCRIPTION
Certain commands use these terminal names. They are maintained as part of
the shell environment (see sh(1), environ(7)).
apollo Any Apollo display
apollo_1280_bw Apollo 1280-line black and white display
apollo_1280_color Apollo 1280 line color display
apollo_800_color Apollo 800 line color display
apollo_800_color1 Apollo 15-inch color display
apollo_15_color Apollo 15-inch color display

Consult /etc/termcap (see termcap(5)) for an up-to-date and locally
correct list.
Commands whose behavior may depend on the terminal either check the value
of the environment variable TERM, or accept arguments of the form -Tterm,
where term is one of the names given above.
BUGS
The programs that ought to adhere to this nomenclature do so only
fitfully.
