++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
All tests use global parameters settable by the operator. Parameters
Parameters may be set by using command line switches (described
below) or by enabling query mode (query -on).
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
-CONTROLLER X (X = controller to test)
This allows the operator to test a specific controller
if multiple controllers are present on the SCSI Bus.
DEFAULT: test all controllers present
-DRIVE X (X = drive to test)
This allows the operator to test a specific drive
if multiple drives are present.
NOTE: THIS SWITCH IS PRESENT ONLY FOR SOFTWARE COMPATIBILITY
WITH OTHER DEVICES. IT IS MEANINGLESS FOR THE 8MM TAPE
SUBSYSTEM AND IS IGNORED.
-NODRIVES
This allows the operator to run controller-only tests
with a system on which no drives are connected.
NOTE: THIS SWITCH IS PRESENT ONLY FOR SOFTWARE COMPATIBILITY
WITH OTHER DEVICES. IT IS MEANINGLESS FOR THE 8MM TAPE
SUBSYSTEM AND IS IGNORED.
-ENTIRE
This allows the operator to specify the use of the entire
tape for writing and reading. This switch has no arguments.
This switch MAY NOT be used with -SHORT
WARNING: USE OF THE ENTIRE TAPE SWITCH WILL CAUSE SOME OF
TESTS TO TAKE UP TO 2.5 HOURS TO COMPLETE A SINGLE
PASS AND SOME OF THE TESTS MAKE MULTIPLE PASSES.
DEFAULT: If neither -ENTIRE nor -SHORT is present, -SHORT
assumed.
-SHORT (This is the default switch)
This allows the operator to specify use of only the first
1000 records on the tape. This will speed up execution of
some of the longer running tests.
This switch MAY NOT be used with -ENTIRE
DEFAULT: If neither -ENTIRE nor -SHORT is present, -SHORT
assumed.
-PATTERN [$]NNNN (NNNN = decimal no. -or- $NNNN = hex no.)
This allows the operator to enter a decimal or hexadecimal
number to be used for all write operations.
DEFAULT: -pattern $29CF

-RANDOM.
DEFAULT: NONE

for all write operations. This switch has no arguments.
This switch MAY NOT be used with -PATTERN, -INCREMENTING, or
-RANDOM.
DEFAULT: NONE
-RANDOM
This allows the operator to choose a random pattern
for all write operations. This switch has no arguments.
This switch MAY NOT be used with -PATTERN, -INCREMENTING, or
