SETTZ(8)  —  Kubota Pacfic Computer Inc. (System Maintenance Utilities)

NAME

settz − set system default time zone

SYNOPSIS

settz

DESCRIPTION

settz examines the file /etc/TZ and creates the file /etc/zoneinfo/localtime as a link to the appropriate file in /etc/zoneinfo.  It also sets the tz variable in the kernel.  settz is run during system startup.

The file /etc/TZ is the authority on the system’s default time zone.  After changing /etc/TZ the system administrator should reboot the system rather than relying on settz; settz does not inform existing processes of the change.
