of page tables to attempt to read to satisfy a fault for a non-resident
 page table.

on each system paging operation. Not currently implemented.

PAGFILCNT

Number of paging files - determines the maximum number of paging files

can be made known to the system.

the image activator if not specified at program link time.

MPW_PRIO

I/O transfers initiated by the modified page writer.

SWP_PRIO

        (Special Parameter)
Swapper I/O priority - This parameter sets the priority of
I/O transfers initiated by the swapper.

        (Special Parameter)
Maximum number of working set list entries that may be skipped while
scanning for a "good" entry to discard. Set to 0 to disable skipping.

PHYSICALPAGES

        (Special Parameter)
Maximum number of physical pages to be used - permits testing of smaller
memory configurations without actually removing memory boards.

PFRATS

        (Special Parameter)
Page fault rate system threshold - This parameter sets the target system
page fault threshold. Not currently implemented.

SWPRATE

        (Special Parameter)
Swap rate control - This parameter sets the swapping rate and serves to
limit the consumption of disk bandwidth by swapping.

IOTA

        (Special Parameter)
I/O time allowance - This parameter sets the number of 10 millisecond
units to charge the current residence quantum for each voluntary wait.
The correct value approximates the cost of a disk I/O neglecting wait time.

SWPFAIL

        (Special Parameter)
Swap fail count - This parameter sets the number of consecutive swap
schedule failures to occur before the swap schedule algorithm changes
to ignore the swap quantum protection.

LOCKRETRY

        (Special Parameter)
Number of retries to perform when trying to lock a multi-processor
 data structure.

NOAUTOCONFIG

        (Special Parameter)
Auto configuration inhibit - inhibits the automatic configuration
 of all devices.

NOCLOCK

        (Special Parameter)
No clock - inhibits the starting of the interval timer for debugging
 purposes.

NOCLUSTER

        (Special Parameter)
Clustering inhibit - inhibits all page read clustering.

WRITABLESYS

        (Special Parameter)
Leave system writable - for debugging purposes leaves system code
 writable.

RESALLOC

        (Special Parameter)
 Enable resource allocation checking.

SSINHIBIT

        (Special Parameter)
Set to inhibit system services on a per process basis.

CONCEAL_DEVICES

        (Special Parameter)
 Set to enable concealed devices.

PIXSCAN

        (Special Parameter)
PIXSCAN specifies the number of process index slots scanned per
second for computable or computable-outswapped processes. Such
processes will receive an automatic priority boost for 1 QUANTUM,
assuming that the priority of the currently executing process is not
in the realtime range (16-31). The priority boost is implemented to
avoid potential deadlocks, such as when a process executing below
DEFPRI acquires a volume lock on a critical disk and cannot release
it, because the process is unable to access the CPU.

MVTIMEOUT

 Mount verification timeout.

LOADERAPAT

        (Special Parameter)
Load the file ERAPATLOA.EXE into the EXEC in place of the default $ERAPAT.

LOADCHKPRT

        (Special Parameter)
Load the file CHKPRTLOA.EXE into the EXEC in place of the default $CHKPRT.

VAXCLUSTER

Load the code to support a VAX cluster whenever SCS support is present.

SCSNODE

 The SCS system node name.

DISK_QUORUM

 The cluster quorum disk name.

QDSKVOTES

QDSKVOTES specifies the number of votes contributed by a quorum disk in a
 VAXcluster.

QDSKINTERVAL

QDSKINTERVAL establishes the disk quorum polling interval in seconds.

ALLOCLASS

ALLOCLASS determines the allocation class for the system.

TAILORED

Specifies whether the system is "tailored" that is, whether it has a library
 disk.

WS_OPA0

WS_OPA0 enables OPA0 output to the QVSS screen for a WORKSTATION I. A value
of "1" enables output for OPA0 to the QVSS screen, a value of "0" causes
output for OPA0 to be ignored.

STARTUP_P1--8

P1 when set to "MIN" specifies that a minimum sequence of system startup
 procedures are to be performed.
P2 controls whether verification is set during the execution of a startup
procedure. A value of "TRUE" maens verification is enabled.
P3-P8 are reserved for future use.

WRITESYSPARAMS

Parameters were modified during SYSBOOT and will be written out to
 VAXVMSSYS.PAR by STARTUP.COM.

LGI_BRK_TERM

When set, causes the terminal name to be part of the association string
for the terminal mode of breakin detection. When not set, association is done
on username only. Set by default, should be cleared if physical terminal
names are created dynamically(e.g., as LAT does) and effective breakin
 detection is wanted.

LGI_BRK_DISUSER

When set, turns on the DISUSER flag in the UAF record whn an attempted
breakin is detected, thus permanently locking out that account. Clear by
 default, only set this if you are very paranoid about attempted breakins;
severe denial of services are a potential side effect.

LGI_PWD_TMO

Period of time, in seconds, a user has to correctly enter the system password
on a terminal on which the system password is in effect.

LGI_BRK_LIM

LGI_BRK_LIM specifies the number of failures that may occur at login time
before tha system will take action against a possible breakin.

LGI_BRK_TMO

LGI_BRK_TMO specifies the number of seconds that a user, terminal, or node
is permitted to attempt a login before the system assumes that a breakin
attempt is occurring and evasive action is required.

LGI_HID_TIM

LGI_HID_TIM specifies the number of seconds that evasive action will
persist following the detection of a possible breakin attempt. The evasive
action consists of refusing to allow any logins during this period,
regardless of whether a valid user name and password are specified.

LGI_RETRY_LIM

LGI_RETRY_LIM specifies the number of retry attempts allowed for users
attempting to login over dialup lines.

LGI_RETRY_TMO

LGI_RETRY_TMO specifies the number of seconds allowed between login retry
 attempts after a login failure.

LOCKDIRWT

LOCKDIRWT (lock manager directory system wait) determines the portion of
lock manager directory which will be handled by this system.
