Name
iishutdown − shut down all or some elements of ULTRIX/SQL installation
Syntax
iishutdown [−B]
Description
The iishutdown command can shut down an ULTRIX/SQL installation. You can also use the command to specifically shut down server, archiver, or recovery processes and to deallocate shared memory used by an ULTRIX/SQL system. When you run iishutdown, it prompts you for the ULTRIX/SQL elements that you want to shut down. Only the ULTRIX/SQL system administrator can use iishutdown.
Options
−BPrevent a shutdown message from being broadcast.
Restrictions
If an error occurs during the shutdown process, it may be necessary to manually remove the iishutdown.lock file before you can run the iishutdown command again.
Files
$II_SYSTEM/sql/files/iishutdown.lock
Lock file that prevents more than one concurrent attempt to shut down ULTRIX/SQL.
