write(1) (MLX Addendum) (MLX) write(1) (MLX Addendum)
NAME
write - write to another user (MLX addendum)
SYNOPSIS
write user [line]
DESCRIPTION
(International Functions)
write can send characters from supplementary code sets.
Supplementary characters from code sets which do not match between the
sender and receiver are ignored.
NOTE
In order to send a supplementary character, write requires the
sender's width for that character's code set (determined by getwidth()
from the LC_CTYPE table for the current locale) to match the
receiver's width for the corresponding code set (according to the line
discipline used by the receiving terminal).
SEE ALSO
environ(1), eucset(1), wall(1M), getwidth(3W), eucioctl(5).
