  NAME

    tty - Gets the name of the terminal

  SYNOPSIS

    tty [-l] [-s]

  FLAGS

    -l   Displays the synchronous line number to which the user's terminal is
         connected, if it is on an active synchronous line.

    -s   Inhibits displaying of the terminal pathname, allowing one to test
         just the exit code.

  DESCRIPTION

    The tty command displays the pathname of the user's terminal.

  DIAGNOSTICS

    not on an active synchronous line
           The stdin is not a synchronous terminal and -l is specified.

    Not a tty
           The stdin is not a terminal and -s is not specified.

  EXIT VALUES

    The tty command returns 0 if stdin is a terminal, 2 if invalid flags were
    specified; otherwise it returns 1.
