  NAME

    fstab - File system table

  DESCRIPTION

    The /etc/fstab file contains information about file systems for use by the
    mount and mountall commands.  Each entry should be specified in the
    following order:

    1.  Block special filename of file system or advertised remote resource.

    2.  Mount-point directory.

    3.  -r if to be mounted read-only; -d[r] if remote.

    4.  File system type string (optional).

    5.  File system options (optional).

        Local file systems
               Backup frequency used by the backup command.

        Network File System (NFS)
               String of NFS mount options separated by commas.

        Remote File System
               Ignored.

    White space separates columns.  Lines beginning with a number sign (#) are
    comments.  Empty lines are ignored.

  EXAMPLES

    The following is an example of the file system table:

    /dev/dsk/s0u0p7.3 /usr S51K 3
    /dev/dsk/s0u0p7.4 /usr/src -r
    /dev/dsk/s1u0p7.3 /usr2 5
    adv_resource /mnt -d
