  NAME

    hosts - Host name database

  DESCRIPTION

The hosts file contains information regarding the known hosts on the
network. For each host a single line should be present with the following
    information:

    official_host_name Internet_address aliases

Items are separated by any number of blanks and/or tab characters. A
number sign (#) indicates the beginning of a comment; characters up to the
end of the line are not interpreted by routines which search the file.

This file is updated periodically by namex, or may be edited manually.

Network addresses are specified in the conventional dot notation using the
inet_addr routine from the Internet address manipulation library, inet.
Host names may contain any printable character other than a field
    delimiter, newline, or comment character.

  NOTES

You must add an entry in the hosts file for each PC host (or other non-
Intergraph host) connected to the network. The entry should be in the
format described previously and should be placed above the comment line
containing the phrase "DO NOT EDIT BELOW THIS LINE!!."
