rtsnode.config(4) CLIX rtsnode.config(4)
NAME
rtsnode.config - Reliable transfer service (RTS) connection configuration
file
DESCRIPTION
The rtsnode.config file defines a connection between one RTS and another,
where filename.config is the MTA name of an adjacent RTS whose entry is in
the master configuration file (see rts.dat(4)).
When a connection configuration file is updated, the rts command rereads
the file at the next earliest instance. When the master configuration
file is updated, the rts command rereads the file and checks that each of
its connection configuration files is still current.
If any new configuration file has been added, rts rereads that file and
adds it to its list of supported connections. If a configuration file has
been deleted from the master file, rts closes that connection at the
earliest suitable time. It moves any messages pending transfer to its
output directory, for rerouting by the MTA, and stops accepting OPEN
requests from that adjacent RTS.
The rts command can send or receive messages from any adjacent RTS for
which it has a connection configuration file. However, it may be
desirable to enable the rts to receive messages from other rts processes
for which it has no configuration file. This is necessary to enable
messages to be received from an unknown network service access point
(NSAP). This is achieved by including a file in the list of connection
configuration files in the rts configuration file, such as other.config..
Refer to the Message Handling System (MHS) tutorial in the Intergraph
ISO/OSI Administrator's Guide for an example and more details on the
connection configuration file.
