  NAME

    tidco - STREAMS DoD TCP driver

  DESCRIPTION

    The tidco device is a STREAMS driver that supports the Transport Layer
    Interface (TLI).  It provides the network service type T_COTS, which is a
    connection-oriented protocol service with no orderly release.

  FILES

    /dev/tidco   Special device file for tidco.

  NOTES

    The /dev/tidco file is now supported by modifications to /dev/tcp, which
    is type T_COTS_ORD.  The /dev/tcp file uses a different address format
    than tidco and also supports options.  Existing programs that use tidco
    will still run without modification.  The new tcp device should be used
    for all newly created applications requiring the Department of Defense
    (DoD) Transmission Control Protocol (TCP).  Support for tidco is not
    guaranteed in future CLIX releases.
