  NAME

    xaux - Asynchronous serial interface driver

  DESCRIPTION

    The xaux driver provides an asynchronous interface for reading and writing
    raw unprocessed data from the system serial ports.

    A system may support three or four serial ports, depending on the platform
    and system configuration.

  NOTES

    Serial port characteristics cannot be established through this interface.
    The ioctl() interface can be used to establish port characteristics on the
    aux special file.  Note that the xaux_open() must occur before the open()
    of the associated aux serial device.
