NAME
dname - Displays Remote File Sharing domain and network names
SYNOPSIS
dname [-D domain] [-N netspec] [-dna]
FLAGS
-dna Enables any user to display the domain name (-d), the network
name (-n), or both (-a).
-D domain Allows only a user with root permission to set the domain name
for the host. The domain must consist of no more than 14
characters, consisting of any combination of letters
(uppercase and lowercase), digits, hyphens (-), and
underscores (_).
-N netspec Allows users with root permission to set the network
specification used for Remote File Sharing. (The value of
netspec is the network device name, relative to the /dev
directory. For example, the STARLAN NETWORK uses starlan.)
DESCRIPTION
The dname command displays or defines a host's Remote File Sharing (RFS)
domain name or the network used by RFS as transport provider.
When dname is used to change a domain name, the host's password is
removed. The administrator will be prompted for a new password the next
time RFS is started (see rfstart).
If dname is used with no flags, it will default to dname -d.
EXAMPLES
To display the domain name used by RFS on stdout, use dname without flags:
dname
If no domain name is set, an error message to that effect will be
displayed.
CAUTIONS
You cannot use the -N or -D flags while RFS is running.
EXIT VALUES
The dname command exits with a nonzero if it fails.
