  NAME

    jblockvol - Loads and locks an optical volume in a jukebox drive

  SYNOPSIS

    /usr/bin/jblockvol [-B] [-c] [-d] volume [priority]

  FLAGS

    -B          Blocks if a cartridge or drive is not available.

    -c          Blocks if a cartridge is not available and in use.

    -d          Blocks if a drive is not available for use.

    priority    Specifies the priority of the jblockvol as an interger.

  DESCRIPTION

    The jblockvol command loads and locks a volume present inside the jukebox
    into the jukebox drive.  In order to prevent the inadvertent removal of
    the volume from the drive, the locked volume cannot be unmounted by a
    jbunmount command.  The volume can be unlocked and unmounted only with the
    jbunlockvol command.

    Blocks is wating for the unavailable cartridge to become available.

    The volume parameter is the optical disk volume name.  The priority
    parameter is an optional argument to specify the priority (as an integer)
    for this command.

  EXAMPLES

    To mount the volume labeled vol_a, into a jukebox drive and set a lock on
    it, key in the following command:

    jblockvol vol_a


  NOTES

    The jblockvol command requires superuser privileges.

  CAUTIONS

    If you are using a Cache File System (CAFS), you are advised not to use
    all available drives through the jb utilities because the cache file
    system needs at least one online drive to satisfy CAFS requests.

    If all of the jukebox drives are already loaded with media and no free

    drives exist, this command returns to the user only when one of the drives
    is made free.  Before issuing this command, make sure that an empty drive
    is available by checking the jukebox configuration.

  DIAGNOSTICS

    On unsuccessful completion, jblockvol returns with an error message.  The
    following includes the most common error message:

    JBM and/or jbinterface is not running
           The application program cannot start because it finds that JBM is
           not running.

  EXIT VALUES

    The jblockvol command exits with a value of 0 if successful.  If
    unsuccessful, it exits with a nonzero value.
