  NAME

newboot - Loads lboot and mboot onto the disk boot partition

  SYNOPSIS

    /etc/newboot [-y] lboot mboot boot_special

    /etc/newboot [-y] olboot mboot boot_special

  DESCRIPTION

The newboot command places the lboot and mboot files on the given
boot_special section of a hard disk. In the case of a floppy diskette,
newboot places olboot and mboot files on the boot_special section of the
diskette (c1d0s7). If the -y flag is not specified, you are prompted for
a confirmation before the boot_special file is overwritten.

The mboot command is the 512-byte micro-boot file loaded by the boot
device firmware and executed to load the larger lboot file.

The lboot argument is a file containing the boot program that is loaded by
mboot and executed to boot the absolute operating system (the /unix).

The olboot argument is a file containing the boot program on a floppy
diskette that is loaded by mboot and executed to boot the absolute
    operating system.

  CAUTIONS

Installing a bad lboot or mboot may make the affected disk unbootable. Be
sure you have a good backup copy of the disk before newboot is run.

  DIAGNOSTICS

    Can't open file
The boot file file was not found.
