  odmkfs(8) CLIX odmkfs(8)

  NAME

odmkfs - Constructs an optical disk file system (ODFS) for optical WORM
    media

  SYNOPSIS

    /etc/odmkfs special vol_name [capacity]

  DESCRIPTION

The odmkfs command constructs an ODFS file system on an optical WORM
cartridge or platter. The file system building process also includes
writing the label of the volume on the cartridge or platter. The odmkfs
command determines the capacity of the cartridge or platter automatically
and sets the file system size. In order to override this default
mechanism of determining the capacity, the user can specify the capacity
of the file system. The number of inodes is allocated dynamically, as
required. Each time the file system runs out of inodes, a block (32) more
are allocated if there is enough space on the disk.

  EXAMPLES

To create an ODFS on a WORM optical cartridge, with a label of VOL_1, key
    in the following odmkfs command:

    odmkfs /dev/rdsk/ods3u0 VOL_1

  FILES

    /dev/rdsk/od*

  NOTES

The odmkfs command requires superuser privileges.

  EXIT VALUES

The odmkfs command exits with a value of 0 if successful. If
unsuccessful, it exits with a nonzero value.
