-reboot Runs /etc/reboot.
-shutdown Runs /etc/shutdown.
DESCRIPTION
The smgrutil command is provided so that a user can run /etc/reboot and
/etc/shutdown can be run without logging into smgr as root. It also
allows the console to run as a user with no privileges.
Workstation reboot and shutdown commands normally do not run unless the
user is logged in as root. Using smgrutil with the -shutdown or -reboot
flag allows a user to shutdown or reboot from the smgr pulldown menu
without being superuser (root). The Confirm menu displays if -confirm is
passed as a flag to smgrutil.
The smgrutil command will run the console as a user with no privileges,
since the console needs to be run before the workstation user has been
established. This allows system error messages directed to the console to
display before a smgr login.
The default /usr/ip32/smgr/smgr_pd file uses smgrutil to run reboot,
shutdown, and the console.
