pubcompress − compresses and reorganizes the pub file used by The Publisher.

DESCRIPTION

Pubcompress reorganizes the data structures stored in the binary file used by The Publisher to store a document.  For documents that have been extensively edited this can save disk space and speed up editing operations on the document. Pubclean -f should be used on the document after it has been compressed to remove a backup file that is created by the pubcompress script. 

EXAMPLES

To compress a Publisher document named personnel:

% pubcompress personnel

compresses the document personnel.
