rtitool(1)

NAME

Rtitool (Request to Integrate tool) is an OpenWindows graphical user interface (GUI) tool for use by os-net developers and gatekeepers to assist them with the integration process.  It efficiently creates and submits the Implementor RTI.

SYNOPSIS

rtitool

AVAILABILITY

Internal only; 5.x versions available.

DESCRIPTION

Rtitool is an OpenWindows GUI tool that creates and submits RTI’s, and has a link to the Bugtraq database.  Given a bugid, it fetches the Priority, Severity, and Synopsis from Bugtraq and checks the state of the bugid.

Rtitool keeps track of release names, gates, and appropriate aliases to which RTI’s should be sent.  It also verifies that required fields are completed before sending, optionally logs all RTI’s into a mail file, and is able to load existing RTI’s from a mail file for updating.

Rtitool may be customized via the properties feature, which saves user-defined tool defaults in a file.  In addition, an administrator has the ability to define os-net specific tool defaults in a global configuration file.

USAGE

The Magnify Help(tm) system furnishes help messages in Magnify Help windows for Rtitool buttons and control areas.  To use the Magnify Help system, move the pointer to the object or area for which you want help and press the Help key on the keyboard.

FILES

By default, rtitool searches for it’s lib directory in ../lib relative to it’s invocation path.  This can be changed by setting the environment variable RTITOOL_LIBDIR.

~/.rtitoolrc user’s properties file

<libdir>/rtitool.config system configuration file

<libdir>/help/rtitool.general_help
system help file

<libdir>/advocates.config database of CRT advocates

SEE ALSO

The Help button in Rtitool.
