Problem Log

Apple IIe Card does not boot 5.25" diskette

After connecting Apple 5.25 Drive to the Macintosh Apple IIe Card, the emulated Apple IIe does not boot from 5.25" diskette. The drive spins and makes the normal reset noises, but the heads do not move, and the emulated Apple IIe enters Applesoft BASIC instead of booting the floppy.

The IWM chip on the Apple IIe Card has failed. Do not plug in or unplug a floppy disk drive while the system is switched on.

LC III does not start with Apple IIe Card

If the Apple IIe Card is installed, the Macintosh LC III does not start. The system powers on, but does not chime, and nothing is displayed on the screen.

Surface mount electrolytic capacitors C1 and C2 on the Apple IIe Card have failed. Replace them. The components are 22µF 35V, 6.3mm dia × 5.4mm height.
