 Name

    devnm - identify device name

 Syntax

    /etc/devnm [ names ]

 Description

    The devnm command identifies the special file associated with the mounted
    filesystem where the argument name resides.

    This command is most commonly used by the /etc/rc2 scripts to construct a
    mount table entry for the root device.

 Examples

    Be sure to type full pathnames in this example:

       /etc/devnm /u

    If /dev/hd1 is mounted on /u, this produces:

       hd1 /u
