 nbstatus.exe(LM) 19 June 1992 nbstatus.exe(LM)

 Name

nbstatus.exe - The DOS version of the network adapter status command.

 Syntax

    nbstatus [-sa] [name]

 Description

The nbstatus.exe command allows the LAN Manager administrator to get
status directly from . For a local machine, nbstatus.exe returns
``adapter'' status and session status information. For a remote machine,
nbstatus.exe returns adapter status only. Much of this information is
not relevant to the typical LAN Manager user. This utility is recom-
mended for use in developing network applications to check for erroneous
information. To run this command, first copy the nbstatus.exe file from
the /usr/lib/lm/dos directory to the DOS or OS/2 workstation.

    Two options are available:

-s [name] Returns status information for the named local session. If
no name is specified, status information is returned for all
names on the local machine. Session information is available
                for local sessions only.

-a [name] Returns ``adapter'' status information for the machine where
name is registered. If the name specified is registered on a
remote machine, the adapter status of the remote machine will
be returned. If no name is specified, adapter status is
                returned for the
                 on the local machine.

name If name is specified without flags, then both session and
adapter status are returned for name if name is local. Only
adapter status is returned when the name specified without
                flags is remote.

If nbstatus.exe is used without arguments, both session and adapter
status information is returned for the on the local machine.

 Files

    /usr/lib/lm/dos/nbstatus.exe

 Notes

To request the adapter status of a remote server, the name should be
specified in all capital letters. Also, some drivers do not respond to
a request for remote adapter status.
