NAME
jbinventory - Takes inventory for all optical disk platters in a jukebox
SYNOPSIS
/usr/bin/jbinventory jukebox_id
DESCRIPTION
The jbinventory command constructs a Jukebox Manager (JBM) database that
associates volume names with storage slot numbers in an optical disk
jukebox so that volumes may be mounted by name. The labels of all
cartridges in the jukebox are read. The jukebox_id is the logical jukebox
name specified in the JBM configuration file. This name is reported by
jbconfig.
EXAMPLES
To take the inventory of the cartridge in a jukebox with the logical name
JB01, key in the following command:
jbinventory JB01
NOTES
The jbinventory command requires superuser privileges.
CAUTIONS
This process can require over a hour for a full jukebox. Do not issue the
jbinventory command if the optical disk drives are activated.
DIAGNOSTICS
The following list includes some of the most common error messages.
JBM and/or jbinterface is not running
The application program cannot start because it finds that JBM is
not running.
usage: jbinventory jbname
The arguments of the command line are incorrect.
EXIT VALUES
The jbinventory command exits with a value of 0 if successful. If
unsuccessful, it exits with a nonzero value.
